Meet your Art Advisor

A person's hand is holding the card, and there's a blurred photograph of a woman with long hair and a white blouse in the background.

Marielle Becker

Marielle Becker is an independent art advisor and the founder of Wonderful Works LLC, an advisory dedicated to helping people and organizations discover, understand, and acquire art that is thoughtful, personal, and meaningful.

Her approach to art collecting is rooted in curiosity rather than convention: look closely, develop your own taste, ask better questions, and let that perspective guide what you choose to bring into your life.

Before founding Wonderful Works, Marielle built a career at the intersection of art, communications, cultural institutions, and audience development.

At the National Gallery of Art, she worked in the Communications Department, helping bring major exhibitions and institutional stories to wider audiences. Her work contributed to national media coverage including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CBS Sunday Morning. She also authored a weekly newsletter reaching more than 100,000 subscribers and helped drive millions of engagements around the museum’s programming.

She later served as Special Advisor to the museum’s Deputy Director, contributing to narrative development, audience strategy, and external positioning.

Today, Marielle brings that institutional perspective into an independent practice designed around the needs of collectors and organizations.

Her network spans artists, galleries, museums, cultural organizations, and collectors shaping the contemporary art ecosystem.

Wonderful Works’ Mission

The art world can often feel unnecessarily difficult to enter.

There is an enormous amount to learn, but there is no reason you need to know everything before you begin.

Wonderful Works exists to make the process more approachable, helping clients build confidence, develop their eye, and ultimately discover what they want to collect. For Wonderful Works, the goal isn’t simply to help someone purchase an artwork. It’s to help them become the kind of person who knows why they want to live with it.
